During the filming of my recent feature documentary about the Irish band The Frames : ‘The Frames In The Deep Shade’ they ended their 20 year anniversary tour in Whelans in Dublin. Whelans was, and still is possibly, the best small music club in Dublin and I knew it well. In fact I shot my first ever live music photography there watching The Davy Spillane Band in August 1991.
